FAQ

Our doctors have decades of combined experience – that’s a lot of years! So, they’ve seen a lot of patients and received a lot of questions over the years. North Bay Dental in Racine, WI pulled together some of our most frequently asked questions here. If you don’t see your question on this list or you’re ready to schedule an appointment, go ahead and give us a call at 262-417-7326.

What Can I Do About My Sensitive Teeth?

A dental exam can rule out whether your sensitive teeth are a symptom of tooth decay, gum disease, or gum recession. If your teeth are healthy and just naturally sensitive, our doctors recommends you use Sensodyne toothpaste.

Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

The ADA has advised that you not whiten your teeth without the supervision of your dentist. There can be a lot of unpredictability in results and irritation when using over-the-counter tooth whitening kits. Professional teeth whitening at North Bay Dental allows us to get you a brighter smile with predictable, safe results. We use Zoom! in-office whitening and take-home treatments.

Which Electric Toothbrush Does Our Doctors Recommend?

Our doctors recommends either Oral-B or Sonicare electric toothbrushes. No matter what type of toothbrush you choose, we suggest choosing a toothbrush with soft bristles. Soft bristles are safer for your enamel and your gums.

How Long Does It Take To Get Dental Implants?

While dental implants can require a span of time to pass between having them placed and then restored by our doctors, that is not your only option. Our doctors can also work to provide you a same-day smile with All-on-4®.

Are You Accepting New Patients?

Yes! Our doctors and the friendly dental team at North Bay Dental are accepting new patients. Call us today – we can’t wait to meet you and your family!

Can You Straighter Teeth Without Braces?

Yes, we no longer have to use braces to straighten teeth. While braces are the gold standard of treatment for crooked teeth, they are no longer the only treatment. We’re using systems like Invisalign and ClearCorrect to move your teeth into a better position. These system do not use metal brackets or wires, rather clear plastic aligners. These aligners are virtually invisible and can easily be removed for eating and cleaning.

Can A Dentist Correct My Jaw Pain?

Our dental office looks at every aspect of your oral care. If you have jaw pains or constant headaches, our office can help relieve this problem. Often people who have jaw pains clench or grind their teeth or have dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Our office can craft a comfortable oral appliance for you to wear while you sleep (the most common time people clench or grind) to take the pressure off your teeth and jaw.
